Call it a twist of fate, pure luck or even a trick of destiny but Micahel Achu has emerged the maiden winner of Star The Winner Is reality TV show, with a prize money of N10 million, a brand new car and recording contract with Universal Records.
But if not for twist of destiny, Michael wasn’t supposed to be the winner because he actually lost the final duet duel to Job who got 57 votes to Michael’s 44 votes.But Job lost his guts and opted out on easy street taking N2 million escape money, in a bid to get something or nothing, should he lose eventually. Anyways, Michael’s guts and luck held on the fateful Friday night and he is the winner.
“This is totally a dream come true for me and my family. I have tried so many times to succeed in my music career but failed, and I am very grateful that at last my persistence and perseverance has paid off, I can’t thank Star Lager and Nigerian Breweries enough,” said an elated Michael at the victory party held on Friday night.
“When I was informed about the Universal Records deal, I had to pinch myself severally because I thought I was dreaming. My dreams have indeed come true”, added an overtly excited Michael.
Marketing Manager, Alcoholic drinks, Nigerian Breweries, Tokunbo Adodo expressed his delight in the climax of the show, he said, “ Before the show premiered for the first time this season, we promised reality TV lovers nationwide a nail-biting, nerve wrecking and exciting three months and I am sure that everyone can attest to the fact that we made good the promise”.
